Texting in the corridor of Deitch Projects:
Is it a fashion statement?
If you look good while doing it, then...maybe.
If you wear a fur-lined collar while doing it, you're an installation piece...and also fashionable.
If you walk into a wall while doing it, it'd very likely be more embarrassing than painful and perhaps also an installation piece.
I know it's the signs of the times, but evolution has taken us back to be monkeys with our heads down on an object.
